My father told me that with both of the main family cars (E36 and 05 toyota 4runner) failing at random, he wants to buy something else to have fun with (stop putting miles on E36, which is now at 235 and going fairly strong) and Daily if he must, but not just him, my mother too

This isnt a huge issue, my mother is a big car fan, and really wants an Z31 (father doesnt) or NSX (too expensive) and can drive stick.

I told my dad, he works at a rotary shop, on Rotary Toys all day, and hasnt owned one in years, its time to buy another FC.. but now that i think about it, i already have an Fc, and for quite a few more years it will be spending its days here, and this house aint big enough for the 2 of us (literally, but we will ignore that)

So, lets go with $3000-$4000 absolute maximum price. what can you guys think of thats fun, RWD, and cheap?

90s pony car. Dirt cheap, bomb-proof reliability, and an aftermarket unmatched by almost any other car. I am partial to a 90s firebird myself and would love one with a handling upgrade and a more open intake/exhaust with maybe a hotter cam to free up the power a bit more.

Porsche 928s and 944s can be had for fairly cheap. Seem to be hit or miss around me, so there's that.

For instance, someone has a 928 for sale near me for $3700. It's an auto with a couple minor issues, but $3700!

240sx if you can find a good one. Or FC, since you and your dad would be optimal owners for a rotary anyways. If you want something cool, you could find a Starion, don't know what they go for though

My vote is for an f-body. If you look on craigslist, don't forget that no one can speel the modle names corractly. I usually find the best deals under camero.

haha, ever since they came out, shes also been the owner of 4-6 S30 zs in her life (along with my father), one she made an exhaust system for, lowered it, and had a kit on in the mid 90s, it was a really good looking car
